Description

Illustration of the song from Michel Berger "The White Paradise"
"I'll go sleep in the white paradise
Where penguins have fun at the rising sun
Playing and showing us
What it is to be alive.
I'll sleep in the white paradise
Where the air is so pure that bathes in
And play with the wind
As I did in my childhood dreams
As before. "

There are artists far and wide across the world opening doors to different universes everyday. If we cannot see fully into them, we can sometimes catch a glimpse through the eye of the beholder.

In this critique, I would like to start of talking about the "door" I see here. In the sky (about an inch over from top right), I see the darkest shade of blue, it's the only (and smallest) section of what could be a night sky. The clouds roll over into a drape, turning into a sheet (the ice) forming her dress. She lays on (her bed) a floating chunk of ice.

All of what has been described above, looks like it fell from another world (the aforementioned darkest blue/ door).

The overall crispness of the ice is very nicely done. Looking at it reminds me of the sound it makes when a piece is broken. In the watery details <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s…" width="15" height="15" alt=":)" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="391" title=":) (Smile)"/> I like the attention paid to the ripples (and within them, the texture is very nice). The icebergs in the background offer a great depth perception, while holding value as key pieces in the water scape. I like the touch of penguins in this piece (nice job).

The sky above reminds me of something I read about in a series by David and Leigh Eddings en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Drea…
The blending of colors by itself is admirable, then it becomes combined texture and shading, to create a piece of art by itself. Without forgetting the stars, which suggest just how small we are, and how big the sky is. Great job.
